A story I co-authored for my college newspaper, The Crimson White, was selected as a Society of Professional Journalists 2022 Mark of Excellence first-place regional award winner for Region 3. The piece was titled “SGA presidential candidate Shield’s team reports opponent Martin for overspending on election.”

Member of the University of Alabama’s W. David Sloan chapter of Kappa Tau Alpha, the national honor society in mass communication. KTA membership is limited to students who rank in the academic top 10% of their class.

KTA is the seventh oldest national honor society, and was founded at the University of Missouri in 1910 at the world’s first school of journalism.

In 2022, I graduated as a red mortarboard recipient, having maintained a 4.0 GPA across my undergraduate studies and obtaining a summa cum laude distinction.

In 2023, I graduated with my master’s of journalism and media studies, where I also maintained a 4.0 GPA.
